What PrivateMovers does

PrivateMovers is a marketplace that connects people who are moving with independent movers and moving companies. Movers are not employees of PrivateMovers. Each moving agreement is between the customer and the mover.

Mover verification

We review mover profiles and photos before approval. Unless a profile says a specific document was checked, we have not verified insurance, licences or background checks. Customers should confirm these before work begins.

Your location

To show movers near you, the site asks your browser for your location. Your browser asks your permission first and remembers your choice. The position is used only for that search (and, rounded to about 1 km, to name your city); it is not stored with your account. You can always type an address instead. Movers see a customer's pickup address so they can quote and navigate to the job. Movers' exact base locations are never shown publicly.

Photos

Hidden information inside photos (such as GPS position) is removed when you upload them.

Emails

We send emails needed to run your account (confirmations, quotes, messages, bookings, security). Marketing emails are sent only if you opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Messages between customers

Customers can only be contacted by other customers if they switch this on. Anyone can block or report another person. Our team only reads a conversation if it is reported to us.

Help assistant

If the AI help assistant is switched on, your question, the page you are on, and a short summary of your own account (such as how many requests or bookings you have) are sent to our AI provider to answer you. Your addresses, phone number and email are not sent. Conversations are not stored on our servers.

You can ask us to correct or delete your account data by contacting admin@privatemovings.com.
